Rick JacobsOwnerPrior to purchasing a Padgett franchise, Rick spent 15 years as a corporate controller (or equivalent) for various small to medium sized businesses. He has taken over the financial reigns for companies that were struggling and needed someone to help them get their financial house in order and growing firms that had never had a controller and needed someone to establish and develop an accounting department. He also took on the controller role for a start up research firm that needed someone to set up their entire business infrastructure. In more than one instance, he was employed by a firm that was experiencing serious cash flow and credit problems, and — in one case — issues regarding unpaid employment taxes. In each case, he expeditiously resolved the issues, dramatically improved the credit rating, and implemented effective cash flow forecasting and management procedures and systems. Rick has a Master of Accountancy Degree from New Mexico State University and has taught accounting at both NMSU & UTEP. Rick’s strengths include the following:

Chris BaldersonAccountantChris not only is our Staff Accountant for our Harrisonburg office, but has also been the Senior Tax Manager for Rosetta Stone since 2002. He has had additional Tax and accounting experience with Pro Tax and Omni services, as well as 17 years of small business management experience. Chris has a bachelor’s degree in Accounting from James Madison University and taught both Accounting and QuickBooks courses at American National University for 18 years.
